Rules of conduct
We’re excited to have you join us for a fun-filled and meaningful Camp experience. To ensure your enlightenment and entertainment in a safe environment, please follow rules of conduct.
1. Respect for Others
- 1.1 Speak kindly and respectfully to everyone, including other participants, staff, and visitors.
- 1.2 Avoid offensive language or teasing.
- 1.3 Respect differences in culture, religion, and personal preferences.
- 1.4 Do not engage in bullying, harassment, or exclusion. Report any such incidents immediately.
2. Follow Staff Instructions
- 2.1 Always listen to and follow instructions from Camp managers and staff.
- 2.2 If unsure about an activity or instruction, ask for clarification.
3. Responsibility for Actions
- 3.1 Be accountable for your behavior. Own up to mistakes and work to make things right.
- 3.2 Keep track of your belongings.
4. Inclusivity
- 4.1 Make an effort to include others in conversations and activities.
- 4.2 Avoid forming exclusive cliques that might make others feel left out.
5. Stay Within Designated Areas
- 5.1 Remain in assigned Camp areas unless accompanied by a staff member or with permission to leave.
- 5.2 Do not enter restricted areas, such as staff offices, maintenance zones, or kitchens, without approval.
- 5.3 It is prohibited for another student or staff member (except for narrow specializations, e.g., cleaning) to enter a student's personal space/living room at any time of day or night. Any group interaction and activities should only take place in public/academic spaces.
6. No Harmful Actions
- 6.1 Avoid physical confrontations, horseplay, or pranks that might cause injury.
- 6.2 Dangerous behaviors like climbing on unauthorized structures or swimming unsupervised are prohibited.
7. Emergency Procedures
- 7.1 Familiarize yourself with emergency exits, assembly points, and procedures for climate changes or medical emergencies.
- 7.2 If you hear a whistle or alarm, follow instructions immediately and calmly.
8. First Aid and Reporting Injuries
- 8.1 Report all injuries or illnesses to a manager, no matter how minor.
- 8.2 Do not attempt to treat injuries yourself unless it’s basic first aid for yourself.
9. Supporting Others
- 9.1 Encourage and support Camp participants in trying new activities.
10. Timeliness
- 10.1 Arrive promptly for all activities, meals, and meetings. Respect the Camp schedule.
11. Permission for Opt-Outs
- 11.1 If you cannot participate in an activity due to illness or another valid reason, inform your manager in advance. Absence/non-participation in any activity must be authorized by the supervisor.
12. Preserve Nature
- 12.1 Avoid damaging plants, trees, or wildlife. This includes not carving into trees, or disturbing animals.
- 12.2 Stick to marked trails and do not litter. Use trash and recycling bins provided.
13. Respect Camp Property
- 13.1 Treat Camp facilities, equipment, and shared spaces with care.
- 13.2 Report any damage immediately to a manager. Damage may result in relevant responsibility.
14. Cleanliness
- 14.1 Keep your sleeping area and common areas tidy. Take turns with cleaning duties if assigned.
15. Electronics and Personal Devices
- 15.1 Personal electronics (phones, tablets, etc.) may only be used during designated times and in specified areas.
- 15.2 Avoid excessive use of devices that might prevent you from enjoying Camp activities or interacting with others.
- 15.3 Do not take photos or videos of others without their consent.
- 15.4 Social media posts should not include inappropriate or unflattering content/words of anyone at Camp.
16. Meals and Food Rules
- 16.1 Be polite and respectful during meals. Wait your turn in line and avoid wasting food.
- 16.2 Clean your dishes and area after eating.
- 16.3 Food should only be consumed in designated areas to avoid pests and messes.
- 16.4 Be considerate of other participants with dietary restrictions or food allergies. Do not offer them food without checking first.
17. Privacy
- 17.1 Respect others’ personal space and belongings.
18. Prohibited/Restricted Items and Activities
- 18.1 The Camp does not condone the use of any type of tobacco or nicotine-containing alternatives by its participants. Their use for the working personal/staff is only permitted in specifically designated areas and is strictly prohibited in other areas, including buildings and dormitories.
- 18.2 The consumption of any type of beverage containing any amount of alcohol is strictly forbidden.
- 18.3 After the designated curfew and the allocation of participants to their dormitories, it is prohibited for a participant to visit another participant's dormitory or leave their own dormitory without permission.
- 18.4 Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, vaping devices, weapons, and fireworks are strictly prohibited.
- 18.5 Theft, vandalism, or illegal activities will result in severe consequences, including expulsion from the Camp.
19. Handling Rule Violations
- 19.1 Minor Violations: These will result in a verbal warning.
- 19.2 Repeated or Serious Violations: Parents/guardians may be contacted, or/and you/participant could face removal from Camp.
